About the role
- Contribute to a team responsible for highly engineered equipment design of nuclear plant components
- Create and develop design concepts, provide procurement support, and generate drawings, CAD models, specifications, and design basis documentation
- Operate in a matrixed engineering team to deliver high quality engineering deliverables
- Maintain open communication with interfacing engineers and project stakeholders
- Prepare CAD models, drawings, specifications, and documentation for nuclear component designs
- Understand component material selection & fabrication processes
- Perform independent verification of design work ensuring strict procedure adherence
- Work closely with sourcing and manufacturing to support cost reduction activities
- Develop procedures and identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity
- Responsible for equipment requirement specifications and drawings
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline
- 3 years of BWR reactor vessel/internals design experience
- Nuclear grade bellows design experience
- Experience performing component design work to ASME Section III standards
- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD design
- Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites occasionally
