About the role
- Keep the wind farm running at availability levels as sold in the SMA, by providing solutions & support to the field teams to get tripped turbines back in operation on short notice, while ensuring that the turbines are in safe state continuously.
- Continuous execution of wind turbine health checks and identification of required improvements for each turbine to reach its health entitlement.
- The health checks include checking for performance (e.g. availability, trip rate, safe state, degraded mode operation, etc.), tracking of Break-In-Maintenance and annual maintenance due dates, completion status of performance related retrofits / PLIs / work orders.
- Understand for each turbine in the population when health improvements will be implemented and maintain a tracker with actual and future status.
- This requires strong interaction with other functions (e.g Sourcing, Project Operations, PLI team, Engineering) to develop such plans, and to create a sense of urgency to get improvements quicker.
- Development of Turbine Doctor standard work and dashboards / tools to efficiently facilitate this.
- Take ownership of driving outstanding retrofit work to closure and work this jointly with Sourcing, Projects and the PLI team.
- Maintain a clear tracker with expected material delivery dates and field implementation dates for each retrofit.
- Development of alarm heat maps for each turbine to identify system level issues that could result in future trips of that turbine. Subsequently lead the development of a fix for those issues jointly with the Senior Troubleshooters and Engineering.
- Continuous tracker of the safe state of each turbine.
- Develop an action plan with ROC and the field team in case of unsafe events or vulnerable turbines.
- Occasionally support the Senior Troubleshooters in case of a surge in down turbines.
