About the role

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of control systems for FACTS devices, including power generation, transmission, and distribution.
  • Develop control algorithms and software for real-time control and monitoring of power systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to ensure successful integration of control systems.
  • Perform modeling, simulation, and analysis of systems to optimize control strategies and improve system performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support their professional development.
  • Participate in testing and validation of control systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to control systems.
  • Stay current with the latest advances in control systems engineering and power systems technology.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
  • Support business development activities by providing technical expertise and contributing to proposal development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in control systems engineering, with a specialization in power transmission systems
  • Strong knowledge of control theory, power system dynamics, and real-time control systems
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, MATLAB, Simulink, and PLC programming
  • Experience with SCADA, DCS, and other industrial control systems
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus
