About the role
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of control systems for FACTS devices, including power generation, transmission, and distribution.
- Develop control algorithms and software for real-time control and monitoring of power systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to ensure successful integration of control systems.
- Perform modeling, simulation, and analysis of systems to optimize control strategies and improve system performance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support their professional development.
- Participate in testing and validation of control systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to control systems.
- Stay current with the latest advances in control systems engineering and power systems technology.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
- Support business development activities by providing technical expertise and contributing to proposal development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in control systems engineering, with a specialization in power transmission systems
- Strong knowledge of control theory, power system dynamics, and real-time control systems
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, MATLAB, Simulink, and PLC programming
- Experience with SCADA, DCS, and other industrial control systems
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus
