About the role

  • Leading: EMI/Grounding
  • Develop a structured roadmap for comprehensive design and validation of lightning protection, grounding, and EMI elements across GEV turbines.
  • Create clear requirements for related hardware design including interfaces with all subsystems and appropriate flowdown to components.
  • Mitigate EMI/EMC/circulating current risks in existing fleet with support from all affected component/system owners to minimize potential future warrantee exposure.
  • Increase the teams capability to identify and understand sensitive EMI and grounding areas proactively; update design practices and develop analysis and validation tools accordingly.
  • Investigate training opportunities within and outside of the organization; outline focus areas and training plans with core team members in this area.
  • Develop short term and long term testing capabilities required for reliable designs; this may include component, lab, and prototype testing platforms.
  • Component and system design lifecycle leader of the sub-system
  • Full ownership and accountability for design, development, testing and certification of appointed sub-system
  • Drive should-cost assessments and support cost optimization efforts with suppliers to meet component cost targets at sub-system level
  • Communicate design details and technical recommendations to senior leadership
  • Ensure lessons learned are promptly incorporated into design
  • Perform Engineering Excellence and provide innovative design solutions to deliver world class in Safety and Quality Operation:
  • Prioritize and delegate work to a global team of design engineers and sub-contractors
  • Identify critical milestones for your programs and instruct program managers assigned to support you to define proper rhythm of operation to make sure schedule is on track: definition of priorities, schedule, assignation of resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5+ years proven technology and/or product management experience in low voltage component design or in similar position.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
