Responsible for modeling the cost of components, systems and products
Support commercial negotiations with cost data insight
Illustrate what drives costs seeking best value solutions
Lead projects that reduce total cost by collaborating with engineering, manufacturing and sourcing teams
Experts in cost estimating methods focusing on multiple areas such as materials, casting, forging, fabrication, assembly, mechanical systems, electrical systems, logistics, and construction
Build external awareness of commercial tools and emergent capability to improve operations and tools
Collaborate with various teams to develop Total Cost of Ownership Models
Train and coach engineering and procurement teams to use cost modelling techniques
Maintain a dossier of competitor intelligence and cost target models
Visit suppliers to optimize manufacturing processes and designs
Requirements
Bachelor's engineering degree from a regionally accredited college, university
5 years of relevant professional work experience in material planning, sourcing, manufacturing, or engineering in energy, aviation, ship-building, industrial, automotive, or other high value add industries
Manufacturing experience across high value add industries
Knowledge of the disciplines of supply chain management, including production operations, inventory controls, costing systems, financial reporting measures
Proven detailed cost analytics experience
Cost out and/or Finance experience
Prior experience in change management & process definition
Experience in multiple functions such as engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, projects, logistics, construction etc.
Ability to support multiple internal customers and partners with competing priorities in a matrixed environment
Experience of operating in a matrix environment with strong relationship-building skills, combined with a clear understanding of global process and transactional flows
Ability to influence up and down the organization and across the functions by provided fact based analysis to help inform decision making
Strong oral and written communication skills
