Perform design, analyses and review of New Nuclear Power Plants (NPP) within a team environment
Ensure compliance of the design with Canadian codes and regulations and the CNSC Regulatory requirements
Execute the design/ analysis and reviews of Seismic Category I and Seismic Category II structures
Perform structural engineering analysis, design and review of the static and dynamic analysis/qualification of nuclear power plant structures
Coordinate design reviews between GE and local AE firms
Perform structural analysis for reinforced concrete and steel framed structures for seismic, hydrodynamic, thermal, wind and tornado loads using ANSYS, SAP2000 or GT-STRUDL computer codes
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
Support GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) quality requirements
Provide on-time, quality delivery of engineering documentation in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering
0-3 years of experience in civil/structural design
Working knowledge of ACI, ASCE and AWS codes and Standards
Fundamental knowledge of TI and BOP systems analyses and design
Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
PC proficiency
Working knowledge of FEA computer software
