About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure the supervision and coordination of daily operations to deliver safety, compliance, service quality, and operational performance
- Lead and support operational teams by ensuring adherence to Swissport procedures, airline requirements, and airport authority regulations, while optimizing the use of available resources
- Drive operational quality, support employee development, and implement actions that promote continuous improvement, ensuring Swissport's commitments to customers and business partners are consistently achieved
- Lead and coordinate daily air cargo operations, ensuring safe, efficient and on-time cargo handling
- Supervise, coach and support operational cargo teams, allocating resources in line with operational priorities
- Ensure compliance with Swissport procedures, customer requirements and aviation security regulations whilst maintaining high operational standards
- Act as the main operational contact for customers and internal stakeholders, resolving issues and ensuring effective communication
- Drive operational performance through quality monitoring, continuous improvement and the development of team members
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous experience in a supervisory, team leader, or operational management role within the air cargo industry, with excellent knowledge of warehouse operations and cargo handling processes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to anticipate operational needs, manage priorities, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational IT systems, with the ability to provide first-level technical support and prepare clear, accurate operational reports in both French and English (minimum B2 level)
- Demonstrates a high level of professionalism, accountability, initiative, and customer service orientation, with a strong commitment to safety, compliance, service excellence, and continuous improvement
- Valid Category B driving license required; valid forklift operator certification is considered a strong asset
