About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Produce and oversee consistent Virtual Design Construction (VDC) deliverables and activities across projects and divisions
Perform essential Senior VDC Engineer responsibilities and duties
Assist with hiring, development, and supervision of VDC team members
Support pursuit reviews and develop renderings, graphics, animations, and other visuals
Oversee VDC tasks and resources supporting projects and pursuits
Use site surveying, layout, reality capture, and existing-conditions capture technologies
Set up background models, real-world and project coordinates, and cloud-based collaborative workspaces
Compare existing conditions to design intent, identify discrepancies, and create accurate models
Maintain and communicate approved BIM design changes for construction coordination
Produce models for quantity take-offs and architectural backgrounds
Develop models for as-builts, facility operations, maintenance requirements, and closeout deliverables
Provide VDC schedule input and conduct constructability reviews
Manage design-conflict and coordination-clash resolution with design and trade partners
Develop modeling and detailing deliverables for at least one self-perform discipline
Produce export layout, spooling, and fabrication files
Set up and run coordination meetings and train project teams
Support coordination work orders, scopes of work, and contracts, including consultant agreements
Build working relationships with project teams, craft, self-perform teams, clients, and design partners
Complete other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree or certification in relevant field
Minimum of 5 years of design, engineering, or construction experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Extensive knowledge of industry standard BIM software application
Revit experience expected
Proficient ability to read and understand plans and specifications
In-depth understanding of commercial construction means and methods
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to take initiative and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
Critical thinking ability with effective problem-solving skills
Relationship-driven and collaborative
Ability to travel to support company VDC needs
