About the role
- Performing light research and reaching out to new utilities and municipalities
- Making 40+ outbound calls per day to spark interest
- Qualifying leads by exploring pain points and program details
- Tracking your activity and progress towards meeting weekly or monthly targets
- Testing new outreach tactics and messaging
- Sharing helpful meeting notes and setting up initial sales meetings with prospects
- Receiving coaching from internal and external mentors
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience as a BDR/SDR or doing other outbound sales
- Strong communication skills - comfortable engaging with people and building rapport quickly
- Curious and genuinely interested in learning about government programs
- Comfortable doing research on public-sector prospects
- Willingness to learn, adapt and continuously improve
- Organized, detail-oriented and keeping clear notes/ records
- Resilient and persistent - with the ability to handle rejection and stay motivated
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving company
- Self-driven - comfortable working remotely and proactive about working with teammates
- Comfortable working with tools such as CRMs and sales engagement platforms
- Bonus points for: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- Experience working with public-sector stakeholders
- Experience selling SaaS or tech solutions
