About the role

  • SweatPals mission: help people build real connections through movement and empower fitness entrepreneurs
  • Role: Social Media Marketing Intern to shape SweatPals' online presence and grow brand locally
  • Create and schedule content across Instagram and TikTok (posts, reels, stories)
  • Manage DMs and comments, keeping engagement fast, friendly, and on-brand
  • Maintain the content calendar and support campaign execution
  • Support in creating and scheduling marketing emails
  • Attend SweatPals events to capture photo/video content and represent the brand in person
  • Monitor social trends and propose creative ideas for real-time activations
  • Create graphic assets using Canva or Figma and source/repurpose UGC from hosts and community
  • Produce weekly reports on follower growth, engagement, and content performance
  • Run small experiments testing 1–2 content ideas per month and share learnings
  • 6-month full-time internship (40 hours/week); requires South Austin office presence at least 3 days/week; potential to convert to full-time role

Requirements

  • Passion for fitness, wellness, and community-driven brands
  • Active knowledge of IG, TikTok, and emerging social trends
  • Creative eye for content — comfortable with photos, video, and writing engaging captions
  • Organized, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Experience with social media, content creation, or marketing (personal projects, student clubs, or internships) is required
  • Comfortable speaking in front of the camera
  • Highly organized, reliable, and accountable — able to take feedback constructively
  • Sharp visual instincts
  • Strong short-form copywriting (IG captions, TikTok hooks, meme headlines)
  • Able to manage multiple projects and keep things moving
  • Clear communicator and confident collaborator across teams
  • Familiar with tools like Canva and video editing apps
  • Curious and trend-savvy — always spotting new formats and cultural moments
  • Comfortable in live/event settings — outgoing, approachable, and great at capturing authentic footage
  • Positive, team-first attitude with a scrappy, can-do energy
  • Strong storytelling instincts — able to turn everyday moments into engaging narratives
  • High attention to detail — double-checks captions, visuals, and posts before publishing
  • Portfolio link required with application (social media handles, content samples, or design work)
