About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients entering the outpatient medical facility
  • Greet and check in patients
  • Verify patient information
  • Schedule appointments
  • Update the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Facilitate healthcare and insurance form completion and collect service payments
  • Gain patient, family/support group, and healthcare-provider confidence through competent performance and effective communication
  • Follow organizational and local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures for privacy and safety
  • Perform specific departmental tasks and/or orient other staff as needed
  • Travel as needed between Roseville and Sacramento locations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma
  • High school diploma or equivalent education/experience
  • 1 year of recent relevant experience
  • Basic knowledge of insurance policies and procedures and patient billing
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule-form data and instructions
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Time management and organizational skills, including prioritization and meeting deadlines
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an interruption-prone environment
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems using established options
  • Ability to ensure patient Protected Health Information (PHI) privacy
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and staff members
