About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate, plan, and manage patient and family education related to breastfeeding
  • Provide lactation consultation and education services
  • Provide breastfeeding assistance, support, and education to patients
  • Perform hands-on lactation consultation services on an outpatient and inpatient basis
  • Evaluate specific lactation problems by telephone

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • IBLCE-Certified Lactation Consultant certification (certification may be required by entity and time to acquire dependent on qualifications for exam)
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • 2 years recent relevant experience
  • Maternal-infant assessment skills
  • Organizational skills with ability to prioritize, problem solve, and meet deadlines
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage own time and schedule own tasks
  • Written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills
