About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Competently performs diagnostic cardiac sonography procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics
- Responsible for all commonly performed echocardiography procedures in the department
- Performs transesophageal echocardiograms with or without three dimensional imaging
- Performs intra operative transesophageal echocardiograms
- Participates in Structural Heart Procedures in the cardiac Cath lab
- Executes complex congenital pediatric echocardiograms
- Orient other staff to the department as needed
- Potential to travel to other sites for coverage according to business needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate from an accredited Cardiac Sonography Program
- Level I or II: RCS (CCI)-Registered Cardiac Sonographer OR ARDMS (RDCS AE for adult or RDCS PE for pediatric)
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- Level II - Minimum of 2 years of experience
- Intermediate knowledge of diagnostic cardiac sonography principles, procedures, and views
- Proficient in performing cardiac sonographic examinations with a solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Working knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and related information systems (Radiology (RIS), laboratory (LIS), electronic health records (EHR), EPIC, and picture archive and communication system (PACS)
