Requirements

What you’ll need

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or equivalent education/experience
Graduation from a certified school of ultrasound
ARDMS-American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
2 years related experience and/or training
Competence in all areas of ultrasound positioning
Knowledge of physiology procedure preparation and technical factors
Ability to operate all ultrasound equipment and modify technical factors as needed
Good patient rapport via effective communication skills
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
