About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide support for SFI and PLT Canada’s programs in Canada
  • Develop, update and distribute communications products to support the elevation of SFI certification and PLT Canada programs
  • Support forestry communications and project management for the Communications and Canadian Operations
  • Coordinate and deliver French programming for PLT Canada and SFI
  • Increase access by Francophones to SFI programs and products
  • Support the delivery of environmental education and career pathways programs for PLT Canada
  • Strengthen relationships with Canadian partners, employers, Indigenous communities, and youth serving organizations
  • Support Canadian government relations efforts, such as preparing pre budget submissions, government submissions, analysis of government announcements, drafting of letters
  • Support Indigenous Relations work, including relationship-building, program development, and partnership opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least 5 years’ work experience in a related field
  • Direct experience in the forestry, natural resources, or education sectors
  • Experience working with youth and exposure to career pathways for youth and/or educators
  • Bilingual (French and English) mandatory
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with information systems and technology, including Microsoft Office suite and WordPress; advanced level of expertise with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint preferred; capacity to learn new applications
