About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop, analyze, and document product cost estimates
Budget, plan, and monitor key investments
Participate in new product development (NPD), design, and cost improvement (DCI) projects
Offer sound cost information and options during design
Manage product cost to target projects with moderate complexity
Prepare supporting documentation for project milestone review
Provide analyzed cost data for project direction, pricing, budgeting, and ROI calculations
Coordinate interaction with suppliers and other resources
Provide leadership in cost avoidance, reduction, and standardization
Administer product costing models and standardized costing procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in engineering/industrial technology discipline, finance, or a related field
3-5 years of experience in costing future products, product development, or cost-related positions
Experience in project management and strong organizational skills
Ability to read, comprehend, and apply engineering specifications and blueprints
Moderate (growing) understanding of manufacturing processes, bills of materials, and product structures
Knowledge of value engineering and DFMA principles
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Curious learner, self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Advanced Excel skills with knowledge of Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
