About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, analyze, and document product cost estimates
  • Budget, plan, and monitor key investments
  • Participate in new product development (NPD), design, and cost improvement (DCI) projects
  • Offer sound cost information and options during design
  • Manage product cost to target projects with moderate complexity
  • Prepare supporting documentation for project milestone review
  • Provide analyzed cost data for project direction, pricing, budgeting, and ROI calculations
  • Coordinate interaction with suppliers and other resources
  • Provide leadership in cost avoidance, reduction, and standardization
  • Administer product costing models and standardized costing procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in engineering/industrial technology discipline, finance, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in costing future products, product development, or cost-related positions
  • Experience in project management and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and apply engineering specifications and blueprints
  • Moderate (growing) understanding of manufacturing processes, bills of materials, and product structures
  • Knowledge of value engineering and DFMA principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Curious learner, self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills with knowledge of Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
