About the role

  • Serve as primary point of contact to Energy Practice accounts to coordinate day-to-day operations
  • Build and maintain long-lasting relationships with accounts managed
  • Ensure timely and efficient delivery of surety bonds or any other account request
  • Coordinate and deliver advisory feedback between sureties and clients
  • Collaboration with the wider Advisory & Production team
  • Work closely with the Director of Operations and the R&P Bond Ops team
  • Proactively explore potential opportunities for additional surety credit within existing client book
  • Optimize existing client relationships and expand surety involvement
  • Actively maintain understanding of current events for all clients and ensure Lead/Tertiary Producers are current on client activities
  • Maintain existing prospective client network and produce new surety clients as appropriate
  • Advocate and educate internal and external stakeholders on project finance structures to help develop surety appetite and innovative surety products.
  • Participate in and facilitate prospect, client, and surety meetings as necessary
  • Travel as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field (preferred focus on risk management or construction).
  • Certifications such as AFSB (Associate in Fidelity and Surety Bonding) or CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) are a plus.
  • 3–7+ years of experience in the surety industry, including contract and commercial bonds.
  • Proven success in managing client relationships and achieving business growth.
  • Prior experience in leadership or mentoring roles is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of surety products, underwriting, and financial statement analysis.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risk and recommend solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to think critically and solve problems.
  • Sound judgement and the ability to impart information clearly in a fast-paced, transaction-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in industry software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must hold or obtain relevant state insurance licenses.
  • Familiarity with regional markets and industry-specific needs (e.g. energy)
  • Willingness to travel to meet clients and attend industry events.
