About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with stakeholders to identify business, performance, and learning needs
- Conduct needs assessments and gap analyses and recommend learning or non-learning solutions
- Translate business goals into measurable learning and performance objectives
- Design learner-centered solutions for instructor-led, virtual, blended, self-paced, and microlearning delivery
- Apply instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and evidence-based learning practices
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to create accurate, relevant learning content
- Develop eLearning modules, facilitator and participant guides, assessments, SOPs, job aids, coaching resources, scripts, storyboards, videos, simulations, and interactive experiences
- Support implementation and reinforcement of learning solutions with Employee Development Coaches
- Review materials for quality, technical accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with objectives
- Conduct pilot testing and evaluate learning effectiveness using feedback, LMS reporting, and performance metrics
- Develop, publish, and maintain learning solutions and manage content in LMS platforms
- Leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve instructional design workflows and learning solutions
- Lead instructional design projects from analysis through implementation, managing timelines, priorities, resources, and deliverables
- Communicate project progress, manage stakeholder expectations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning & Development, or a related field
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
- Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in instructional design, learning experience design, eLearning development, or a related field
- Experience designing instructor-led, virtual, blended, self-paced, and performance support solutions
- Experience partnering with stakeholders across multiple departments and functions
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS), SCORM-compliant content, and authoring tools such as Articulate 360 (Rise and Storyline) or similar software
- Proficiency with video recording and editing and screen capture software such as Camtasia, SnagIt, or similar tools
- Strong project management, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to evaluate learning effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative data
- Ability to travel occasionally to jobsites, company locations, and training events
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) preferred
- Construction, manufacturing, industrial, or compliance-based learning experience preferred
- Master's degree or professional certification preferred
