About the role
- Proactively influence external regulatory policy and develop and drive Superloop’s regulatory and government affairs strategy, including engagement aimed at creating an environment in which Superloop continues to succeed.
- Responsibilities include: Advocate and lobby agreed Superloop positions in regulatory and government engagement opportunities, including conferences and other public forums
- Manage Superloop’s participation in industry working groups such as the ATA (including collecting internal inputs and following up actions)
- Take a leading role within the industry on regulatory and government issues, as appropriate
- Monitor the external government, policy and regulatory environment to anticipate and lead the management of potential changes, including relevant internal and external communications and reporting
- Lead the compliance design function and continually improve the approach to identifying, assessing and complying with regulatory obligations
- Optimise the linkage between Regulatory and Government Affairs advocacy and the operationalisation of new regulatory obligations within the business
- Drive a strong compliance culture across the organisation
- Support the business in designing and implementing controls that underpin compliance
- Support the Chief Legal & Corporate Officer in any other matters as required
Requirements
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role in terms of scope and seniority
- Previous experience with an ASX-listed entity (or equivalent), or similar experience
- Ability to analyse trends, identify critical threats and opportunities, diagnose issues and proactively develop solutions
- Proven track record of driving results and managing multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously
- Ability to build strong internal and external relationships, operate effectively within large cross-functional teams, and influence stakeholders to drive change
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-changing environment, maintaining a strong grasp of macro issues while demonstrating attention to detail
- Significant telecommunications industry experience is mandatory
