About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the design and delivery of statistical and machine learning solutions that drive high-impact, data-driven decisions across the business
Own complex, ambiguous problems end to end, from framing the question to deploying and monitoring the solution in production
Investigate trends, patterns, and anomalies; diagnose root causes and surface opportunities shaping product and business strategy
Architect data pipelines to access, clean, and transform large raw datasets, and establish reusable patterns
Design, implement, and monitor business rules for cash flow underwriting and repayment workflows
Partner with product, engineering, and business leaders to translate strategic priorities into data science roadmaps and influence leadership-level decisions
Identify high-leverage problems and build or scope appropriate solutions
Design and run rigorous experimentation programs, including A/B testing, to test hypotheses and quantify business impact
Develop, prototype, validate, and productionize machine learning models and algorithms while balancing accuracy, latency, cost, and maintainability
Communicate technical findings and model results to senior and non-technical stakeholders through visualizations, writeups, and recommendations
Work alongside product managers, software engineers, and designers in mission aligned teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience in data science roles
Track record of shipping models that delivered measurable business impact
Ability to own projects independently and lead others through technical ambiguity
Experience taking models to production and maintaining them through deployment, monitoring, and retraining
Technical degree in data science, computer science, analytics, or AI, or equivalent applied experience building and evaluating production models
Strong SQL, including clean and performant transformations; DBT experience ideal
Expert programming skills with fluency in sklearn, pandas, numpy, and TensorFlow or PyTorch
Previous experience in fintech and lending
Work authorization allowing employment for any employer in Canada or the US for at least the next 12 months
Must not require sponsorship to work in the US or Canada, or must disclose future sponsorship needs
