About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with processing payroll on a regular schedule (weekly, biweekly, or monthly)
- Review timekeeping records for accuracy and completeness
- Enter and update employee payroll information, including new hires, terminations, and pay changes
- Assist with calculating wages, overtime, deductions, and benefits contributions
- Help maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
- Respond to basic employee payroll questions and escalate issues as needed
- Assist with employee benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Support new hire benefits onboarding
- Help maintain benefits records and employee documentation
- Respond to basic employee benefits inquiries
- Assist with open enrollment preparation and communication
- Coordinate with HR and benefits vendors as needed
- Take on additional tasks and duties as assigned by the HR Manager to support overall HR functions.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 1–2 years of experience in payroll, HR, accounting, or an administrative role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic understanding of payroll and benefits concepts (training provided)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic office software
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Strong problem solving & critical thinking skills
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
