About the role

  • Help drive the strategic direction of AD+ benefit programs aligning with business objectives
  • Drive development and execution of health, welfare, retirement, wellness and leave of absence strategies
  • Lead data-driven decision-making using advanced analytics, industry trends and market insights
  • Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with vendors, negotiate contracts and drive service/cost improvements
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, finance and actuarial teams to develop pricing models and contribution strategies
  • Foster a high-performing team and provide strategic leadership, coaching and development to direct reports
  • Evaluate plan performance and identify trend drivers and optimization opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to promote benefit programs and drive engagement
  • Ensure benefit plans are compliant with federal (ERISA, COBRA, ACA) and applicable state/local regulations
  • Lead large-scale projects and change initiatives with focus on stakeholder engagement and operational excellence
  • Develop and implement process improvements and manage integrations of acquired companies
  • Proactively stay current on industry best practices, legislation and market evaluations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience managing employee benefits for complex mid-size to large organizations
  • 2+ years of experience leading teams
  • Deep expertise in design, administration and implementation of health and welfare and retirement plans
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions a plus
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of HR programs and connections
  • Knowledge of leave processes (short-term and long-term disability, FMLA, state leaves, work accommodations) and benefits compliance
  • Strong decision-making and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal/communications skills
  • Skilled in stakeholder management and ability to influence at all levels
  • Excellent project management and planning skills
  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and problem solve complex issues
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast paced, fluid environment
