About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to a range of activities based on background and expertise: Evaluate reimbursement submissions from pharmaceutical manufacturers.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to evaluate the potential economic and strategic impact of drugs to Sun Life benefit plans.
- Support drug listing recommendations for Sun Life benefit plans.
- Contribute to assigned projects and strategic initiatives.
- Lead clinical components of drug reviews and review and critically appraise evidence supporting the therapeutic benefit of drugs.
- Conduct landscape assessments of disease areas (comparators, pricing, guidelines, positioning).
- Establish prior authorization criteria for high-impact drugs, where appropriate.
- Support evaluation of economic models submitted by pharmaceutical manufacturers.
- Perform data mining and analysis of claims data to inform strategic positioning.
- Support managers in developing negotiation strategies and therapy positioning.
- Contribute to frameworks for epidemiological analyses and market access planning.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently enrolled in a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) program with at least one year of completed coursework, OR a post-graduate program in Biopharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Biomedical Discovery and Commercialization, or other similar program with relevant coursework.
- Strong clinical literature search, critical appraisal skills, and/or demonstrated coursework/experience in Evidence-based medication therapy management and clinical trial evaluation, Health economics and health technology assessment, Data analysis and business intelligence, Market access strategy and negotiations.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation, and documentation skills; able to convey complex information clearly and succinctly to all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and self-directed with demonstrated accountability and leadership; able to make effective decisions and recommendations leveraging the team expertise and/or independently.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required.
