About the role
- Lead development of innovative analytics solutions including transformation processes and complex data models for Canadian Operations
- Work directly with data engineers, business data analysts, data scientists and clients throughout the entire engagement lifecycle including technical analysis, design, development, implementation and consulting
- Maintain best practice standards for analysis and reporting at all levels including data governance, documentation, testing and visualization techniques
- Participate on projects and drive assignments to completion, including project planning and estimates
- Participate in group meetings for solution design, decision making, problem-solving and solution implementation
- Perform back-end data discovery and analysis to provide developers with documented data connections, integrity, and accuracy assessments
- Reverse-engineer data sources, multilayered integration pipelines, and complex metric calculations into standardized, streamlined, and well documented operational metric definitions
- Build and maintain processes to accelerate discovery and insights work
- Create and maintain operational business metric catalogue
- Coach and grow new and interested community of developers and champions within the organization
Requirements
- Bilingualism (French, English both oral and written) required for Quebec only to answer calls from English and French-speaking clients
- Minimum undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience in SQL and other languages used in data manipulation
- 3-5 years of experience with data warehousing principles and design/development using dimensional modeling principles
- Developing rich portfolio of design use cases demonstrating excellent user experience
- 1-2 years of experience in SSIS ETL and C# Development
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation and storytelling with data
- Solid understanding of how to consolidate and transform data to meaningful and actionable information
- Ability to draw out meaningful business insights by synthesizing information from multiple sources
- Demonstrated experience in development of analytics applications or data analysis, including insights development and communication to senior leadership
- Good to have: Experience with Agile or design-driven development of analytics applications
- Good to have: PMP and/or Scrum Master certification
- Good to have: Experience with AWS data storage and integration services
- Good to have: Knowledge of Insurance or Financial Services industry
