About the role
- Lead and manage major CAPEX projects across the Americas
- Oversee all phases from initial scoping and engineering through procurement, construction, and start-up
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as R&D, Operations, EHS, and Procurement
- Manage engineering consultants, contractors, and project team members
- Plan and execute defined scope of CAPEX measures and projects within budget, time, quality, and safety parameters
- Prepare project approval documentation
- Carry out all project phases, from project idea to scoping, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up
- Ensure full compliance with the best internal and external practices, guidelines, regulations, and legislation
- Select and manage engineering consultants and contractors
- Responsible for regular project controlling & reporting to the Steering Committee/Senior Management
- Responsible for post-completion project evaluation (KPI’s, lessons learned, etc.)
- Coaching of less experienced colleagues
Requirements
- Engineering degree in Chemical or Mechanical
- 15 years of experience in project engineering or comparable technical roles
- 10 years of direct project experience as Project Manager
- Preference for the experience to be in the chemical industry
- Project Management skills (formal training desirable)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels
- Experience with Chemical Processing, grinding & dispersing technology
- Familiarity with NFPA, ATEX, European version of NFPA, and ICC for building codes (desired)
- Strong understanding of Cost engineering
- SAP
- MS Office
