About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process payroll accurately and on time, in line with established schedules
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, including timekeeping, leave balances, and employee data
  • Run validation and quality checks to ensure data integrity
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations, audits, and statutory reporting
  • Generate payroll reports for management and Finance
  • Support benefits administration, including enrolment changes and employee queries
  • Ensure compliance with South African tax, labour, and statutory requirements
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a smooth employee experience
  • Maintain accurate employee records across HR systems
  • Respond to payroll and benefits queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Partner with HR and managers to ensure data accuracy and aligned processes
  • Keep payroll and HR systems (including Paylocity) accurate and up to date
  • Support continuous improvement of payroll processes
  • Handle confidential employee information with care and discretion

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A diploma or degree in HR, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field — or currently completing one
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with sensitive, confidential information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Up to 3 years’ experience in payroll or HR administration
  • Exposure to Paylocity or a similar HRIS
  • Experience supporting payroll in a multi-country or global environment
  • Familiarity with the employee lifecycle
