About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct loss control surveys and physical inspections of commercial accounts
- Provide underwriters with accurate descriptions of insured physical and operational details
- Identify hazards and potential loss exposures and recommend ways to eliminate or reduce potential loss
- Consult with underwriters and other staff on account and line-of-business acceptability, exposures, and controls
- Assist underwriters and staff with account operations, exposures, construction, and protection
- Conduct accident investigations and loss analyses to identify causes
- Maintain specialized knowledge of company and department manuals, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and other codes and regulations
- May lead the work of others by mentoring, prioritizing, delegating, and reviewing assignments
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Safety Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Generally, 6 to 10 years of related experience
- Certification in the area of chosen expertise is a plus; examples include CSP, CFPS, ARM, CSHMS, ALCM, or OHST
- Must reside in the Lakeland, Florida area
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship
- Knowledge of Property, Liability, and Casualty lines of coverage
- Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and other pertinent codes and regulations
