About the role

  • Serve as the primary client contact on a defined portfolio of commercial accounts
  • Proactively engage clients well ahead of renewal dates to assess evolving needs
  • Collaborate with brokers to market, remarket, and renew accounts to secure optimal terms
  • Respond to client inquiries regarding coverage, policy changes, COIs, and mid-term adjustments
  • Identify opportunities for upsell, cross-sell, or referrals
  • Review submission materials, prepare and present proposals, negotiate with insurers
  • Secure favourable terms via insurer engagement and thoughtful positioning
  • Maintain robust understanding of commercial lines coverages (property, liability, auto, etc.)
  • Ensure all documentation, binders, and endorsements are accurate and compliant
  • Maintain data integrity in our CRM and policy systems
  • Ensure policy documents, invoices, and binders are uploaded, shared, and tracked properly
  • Support internal workflows tied to onboarding, renewals, and client satisfaction surveys
  • Flag process gaps or inefficiencies and suggest improvements
  • Participate in standups, trainings, and 1:1 coaching with leadership
  • Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives (e.g. new product launches, service enhancements)
  • Help mentor junior staff or support onboarding of new teammates

Requirements

  • 3+ years in commercial lines account management, brokerage, or insurer role
  • RIBO Level 2 (or equivalent provincial) license required
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance products and coverage structures
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail—nothing slips through the cracks
  • Excellent verbal & written communication; ability to translate complex topics clearly
  • Comfortable using systems and tools like CRM, policy management, and analytics
  • Growth mindset—eager to learn, take ownership, and push for continuous improvement
