About the role

  • Respond promptly to all tenant insurance calls and emails, ensuring professional service and clear post-interaction documentation.
  • Own the daily workflow, triaging and prioritizing incoming requests across all channels (phone, email, chat) to keep queues organized and under control.
  • Empower customers to use our online self-service tools, and when necessary, securely process sensitive payment updates following strict privacy rules.
  • Use our policy and billing software to quickly confirm coverage, manage policy documents, and execute routine changes like address, name, and coverage updates.
  • Support clients through the entire policy lifecycle (new setups, renewals, move-related changes, and cancellations).
  • Minimize cancellations by proactively contacting tenants to resolve payment issues and help them maintain continuous coverage.
  • Guide clients through the claims process, directing them to the correct channel, gathering initial details about the loss, and submitting structured notices to the insurer.
  • Translate complex insurance terms into simple language, ensuring tenants fully understand their coverage, including liability, contents, and add-ons.
  • Drive internal efficiency by identifying common pain points and collaborating on updates to our documentation and templates, helping to improve the support experience for all stakeholders.
  • Serve as a peer mentor for new team members by sharing expertise and best practices.
  • Liaise with property management partners to answer routine questions and ensure they understand how group and individual tenant policies satisfy lease obligations.
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy by strictly following all internal processes, documentation standards, and best practices for record-keeping and identity verification.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in sales, customer support, or client-facing roles, ideally within a high-volume setting.
  • CAIB 1 license minimum, (RIBO must be obtained within 60 days of hire)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain provincial insurance licensing in all provinces where Summit operates.
  • 1+ year of experience in Personal Lines insurance sales, with responsibilities including lead generation and risk assessment to quoting or policy binding is an asset
  • Focused on tackling new challenges, solving problems, and moving the business forward, without waiting to be asked.
  • A natural ability to quickly build trust, provide exceptional service, and guide clients through a seamless, consultative insurance experience.
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all documentation and client data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach for effective partnership with clients, carriers, and internal teams.
  • A genuine commitment to continuous learning and building deep insurance expertise to better serve complex client needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies and internal platforms is essential.
