About the role

  • Drive value by partnering with stakeholders across departments to deliver source-to-contract activities for R&D services
  • Negotiate and contract with supply base and ensure alignment with category strategies and business plans
  • Deliver strategic sourcing, contract management, supplier market intelligence, financial productivity, supplier performance management, and risk mitigation
  • Develop and execute Sourcing Category Plans; negotiate and redline service contracts and statements of work
  • Lead end-to-end competitive sourcing activities (RFx), generate sourcing insights using spend analytics and benchmarking
  • Maintain sourcing practices in accordance with corporate ethics, financial policy, and internal control requirements
  • Pursue ongoing development of relevant skills and lead change management to improve productivity and efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 8 – 12 (w/o Master’s) or 6 – 8 years (with Master’s) years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing & procurement
  • Preference toward experience in [BUSINESS] spend categories
  • Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Medical or Life Sciences experience a bonus
  • 3-5 years of Strategic Sourcing & Procurement experience across R&D service categories, preferably with CRO and ancillary vendor contract negotiation and oversight
  • Capable with sourcing platforms including contract lifecycle management, e-sourcing, spend analytics, and supplier risk management
  • CPSM/CPM a plus
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal, problem solving, written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical skills with ability to generate spend analysis and translate insights into action
  • Leadership and business partnering skills; change and project management experience
