About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with daily and weekly standard vs. actual cost reviews (materials, labour, overhead)
  • Support preparation of cost variance summaries for review by Cost Accounting
  • Help validate cost inputs and investigate basic cost discrepancies using ERP data and Excel tools
  • Maintain costing trackers and ensure timely updates to recurring reports
  • Support inventory costing and valuation activities, including data validation and reconciliations
  • Assist with inventory movement tracking (RM, WIP, FG) and prepare summary schedules
  • Support cycle count and physical inventory preparation, including data collection and reconciliation assistance
  • Assist with month‑end close activities, including data preparation for journal entries and reconciliations
  • Maintain supporting schedules for cost‑related balance sheet accounts
  • Help prepare recurring costing and operations reports used by Finance and Manufacturing teams
  • Assist in improving costing templates and Excel tools for efficiency and accuracy
  • Perform data checks, clean‑up, and validation to support reliable financial reporting
  • Document recurring processes and maintain Finance working files in line with team standards
  • Assist in documenting cost accounting–related internal controls

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or a related course
  • Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivots, basic data analysis)
  • Comfortable working with numeric data and repetitive tasks
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to follow structured processes
  • Willingness to learn manufacturing and cost accounting concepts
