About the role
- Analyze cost trends and gross margin performance, identify and resolve anomalies, and develop reports that clearly communicate significant variances and insights to stakeholders.
- Evaluate the costs of existing and proposed products to identify trends and drivers and recommend actions to improve product profitability.
- Assess inventory levels, production costs, overhead, and operational expenses to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost optimization.
- Assist with the annual physical inventory & cycle count programs.
- Maintain, generate, and analyze periodic inventory reports.
- Support budgets and financial forecasts.
- Perform month-end close activities, including analysis of accounts and preparation of journal entries.
- Provide financial guidance to the Production Operations group on cost accounting questions and issues.
- Analyze data discrepancies and assist with identifying corrective action and process improvements.
- Develop and prepare account reconciliations, annual audit work papers and assist with auditor inquiries.
- Support general ad hoc analysis and manufacturing transaction problem resolutions.
- Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with others.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
- Ability to gather and analyze detailed financial data resulting in recommendations to business leaders.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work with various stakeholders and cross functional project teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong computer skills: Excel, Word, Oracle ERP
- Cost accounting experience
- Preferred: Power BI and/or Power Automate Experience
- Preferred: Manufacturing Experience
- Preferred: CPA or CMA
- Preferred: A master’s degree in accounting or finance
