About the role

  • Partner with departmental leaders to implement a global sourcing strategy for categories/commodities
  • Support the Global Sourcing team in fulfilling category management strategy, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and handling escalations
  • Manage categories such as wire harnesses, electronic component distributors, batteries, switches and relays
  • Develop and execute strategies for acquiring electronics components, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring supply continuity
  • Ensure new product development projects are delivered on-cost, on-time, and without supply-driven failures
  • Use sourcing tools and conduct RFI, RFP, RFQ processes to support supplier selection
  • Control the critical review file and act as interface between planning and suppliers to execute priorities
  • Participate in idea-generation and review implementation progress to deliver cost-saving targets
  • Participate in audits with Quality Assurance and external auditors to ensure consistent supplier quality
  • Stay up to date with suppliers’ capacity, capabilities, products, and technologies and inform decision-makers
  • Understand and comply with Company policies and maintain regular attendance
  • Attend in-person or virtual meetings and communicate effectively and respectfully with others

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated experience working in a supplier management role in the manufacturing industry
  • Sound understanding of manufacturing processes for industrial products and components, including electronics components, both passive and active
  • Experience managing categories like wire harnesses, electronic component distributors, batteries, switches and relays
  • Ability to lead project teams and provide direction to cross-functional project groups
  • Great critical thinking, organizational, planning and project management skills
  • Great interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships and resolve conflict
  • Sound communication skills (written, verbal, listening and presentation)
  • Sound business acumen and analytical skills; ability to use and analyze data
  • Financial acumen and numerical ability to manage budgetary resources
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Preferred: experience working with EMS Component Distribution and OEMs
  • Preferred: experience using Oracle Sourcing functions
  • Preferred certifications: Certified in Supply Management (CSM), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
