About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide strong leadership and professional oversight of the service, with specific responsibilities for a group of homes
- Ensure high-quality, child-centred practice that delivers positive outcomes for young people
- Lead, motivate and develop a skilled workforce, providing high-quality supervision, appraisal and reflective practice
- Ensure services meet statutory requirements and maintain positive Ofsted outcomes
- Champion excellent safeguarding practice and the Signs of Safety approach
- Drive service improvement through quality assurance, performance management and partnership working
- Manage budgets and contribute to countywide service planning and development
- Create environments where young people feel safe, supported and empowered to achieve their potential
- Take part in an on-call rota and may be required to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays
Requirements
What you’ll need- A relevant professional qualification (or equivalent experience) and Level 5 Management qualification (or willingness to work towards)
- Significant experience working with children and young people, including staff and budget management
- Strong knowledge of children’s legislation, supported accommodation regulations, and safeguarding frameworks
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage complexity and make sound decisions under pressure
- A commitment to reflective, child-centred and proportionate practice
- Experience managing supported accommodation or Ofsted-regulated provision is desirable.
