About the role

  • Design and prototype elegant solutions for mobile and web apps
  • Partner with product managers on product strategy and definition
  • Identify user needs, sketch solutions with prototypes, test ideas with UX researchers, and refine designs with data and user feedback
  • Document detailed interaction models and UI specifications
  • Collaborate with other designers to maintain design consistency and coherence across Subsplash products
  • Manage and prioritize a workload of multiple projects from concept to completion and own all design aspects of projects through production
  • Contribute to and help direct the build-out and maintenance of the internal design system/pattern library
  • Evangelize best UX practices to other designers, engineers, and product managers
  • Develop a deep understanding of Subsplash products and product development processes (Year 1 outcome)
  • Make contributions and help direct the build-out of the internal design system (Year 1 outcome)

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant UX design experience
  • BA degree in Interaction Design, Information Design, Visual Design, HCI or related field
  • Ability to create usable and compelling experiences through a user-centered design process
  • Excelling in end-to-end product design which includes user research, wireframing, prototyping, application of design patterns, and visual design
  • Thinking about design as a system, and ability to contribute to and maintain our pattern library
  • A belief that feedback is a gift; actively seek and give feedback thoughtfully
  • Able to provide a portfolio that demonstrates expert use of typography, color, imagery, grid systems, and well-crafted animation/transitions
  • Able to provide a portfolio that demonstrates sound product thinking through navigation, user flows, interaction design and information architecture
  • Being a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has the desire to lead
  • Having a deep appreciation and natural eye for clean and beautiful aesthetics
  • Must reside in one of the following states to work remotely: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wyoming
