About the role
- Overseeing financial transactions between partnering entities, including managing all financial reports and reconciling accounts.
- Ensuring compliance with joint venture agreements as well as applicable accounting and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee accounting of Joint Ventures and Affiliated entities and ensure proper accounting and financial reporting practices are followed including equity method accounting and financial statement disclosures.
- Preparing and distributing monthly financial reports and completing the month-end close process.
- Providing information needed for tax return preparation and coordinating funding for tax payments through capital contributions.
- Communicating with partners to obtain tax filings for non-managed joint ventures.
- Daily review of bank activity and validating joint venture project payments.
- Communicating payment information to the Project Accounting team.
- Reviewing partner and subconsultant payment releases, ensuring sufficient funding and obtaining approval for release.
- Posting accounts receivable payments, processing and posting partner and subconsultant payments, and recording bank and journal entry activity.
- Reconciling bank accounts monthly.
- Ownership and maintenance of master joint venture listing.
- Coordination of system setup and new bank accounts requests for new managed joint ventures.
- Review of agreements to determine applicable partnership fees and coordinate fee billing.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in joint venture accounting and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or progress toward CPA certification.
- 4+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience with joint venture, partnership, project, or complex intercompany accounting.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP accounting systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience in professional services, engineering, construction, or project‑based environments; preferred.
