About the role
- Administer all commercial and contractual matters relating to a specific Project
- Minimize commercial risk and maximize opportunity through the identification and monitoring of potential risks
- Compilation of potential change orders and claims
- Record and forecast cost for accurate understanding of the Project’s performance
- Ensure commercial processes and procedures are adhered to
- Develop a culture of commercial awareness across the project
- Establish a commercial strategy with clear commercial objectives in conjunction with the Project Director and Commercial Director
- Ensure all correspondence and meeting records from the Contractor are reviewed and responded to accordingly
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Manage the submission timelessly of potential change orders in accordance with Project contractual obligations
- Prepare timely sub-consultant agreements
- Administer sub-consultant agreements to ensure liabilities are accurate
- Coordinate the management of claims
- Provide accurate Profit and Loss (P-L) and Cost to Complete (CTC) reports
- Ensure accurate records are maintained
- Develop and encourage direct staff to take responsibility for sections of the project
- Fulfil any other task that can be reasonably within the contemplation of the role
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years' experience with large-scale commercial builder contracting, preferably within the AEC market
- Strong financial background with some experience of understanding of contractual law
- Technical knowledgeable in commercial, contract and risk management
- Exposure to large engineering and construction projects
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to resolve problems independently and operate efficiently under pressure
- Degree in construction, engineering or related discipline
- Membership of relevant professional body
