About the role
- Plan and conduct engineering work involving the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of engineering techniques and design criteria
- Support the design and development of transportation infrastructure including roadways, bridges, rail corridors, pipelines, and water/wastewater systems
- Prepare and modify engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, exhibits, charts, and technical reports
- Apply standard engineering methods, procedures, and criteria in the execution of related design tasks
- Assist with interdisciplinary coordination across transportation, structural, traffic, and geotechnical engineering teams
- Monitor engineering work for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and accepted engineering practices
- Apply STV policies, procedures, and quality standards to resolve routine technical issues
- Participate in internal coordination efforts and, as appropriate, support limited external agency or client interactions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Professional Engineer (PE) preferred or ability to obtain
- Typically 3–5 years of relevant transportation or civil infrastructure experience
- Working knowledge of transportation design principles and engineering standards
- Experience preparing engineering plans, calculations, and technical documentation
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary, team-oriented environment
