About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage design/drafting projects from concept to completion
  • Assists Engineering staff with design projects and acts as a liaison between Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sales departments
  • Provides design solutions for design/development projects and product change requests
  • Prepare product documentation, checking dimensions of parts, material to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to the whole structure.
  • Drawings to include but not limited to the following: system/component model, installation/layout/ weldment/assembly drawings, piece part drawings, and isometric drawings
  • Utilize red-lined drawings, engineering change requests, and any instructions supplied to prepare revised drawings incorporating dimensional change or pertinent data
  • Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings
  • Uses computer assisted drawings (2D/3D CAD) equipment and software
  • Interact with engineering and manufacturing personnel to solve any problems that may arise during the manufacturing process and to document the corrective action.
  • Participate in design reviews to determine the feasibility of proposed designs and offer opinions for product improvement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum one-year college or trade school education in mechanical drawing and related areas with minimum of two years on-the-job experience
  • Minimum four years of on-the-job experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or comparable CAD software
  • Ability to read and understand English instructions
  • Individuals must possess basic Algebra skills
