About the role

  • Write and edit content tailored to a specific department or initiative (e.g., Programs, Development, Marketing, Policy).
  • Collaborate closely with assigned teams to understand messaging goals, campaign timelines, and audience needs.
  • Take full responsibility for the quality and completion of assigned content.
  • Sign off on final drafts, confirming readiness for publication or distribution.
  • Ensure all content aligns with SFLA’s Lexicon, Style Guide, and brand voice.
  • Create initial drafts using Copilot, leveraging its capabilities to accelerate content development.
  • Conduct an editing pass through Copilot to ensure the work is accurate and aligned with the organization’s Lexicon and Style Guide.
  • Manage tasks and deadlines through Asana or other project management tools.

Requirements

  • K nowledge of grammar rules, including the Oxford comma.
  • Strong writing, editing, and research skills.
  • 2+ years of professional writing experience, preferably in nonprofit, advocacy, or mission-driven organizations.
  • Experience in marketing, communications, or legislative affairs a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and project management platforms (e.g., Asana).
  • Experience with and willingness to learn and apply AI tools in the writing process.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tasks and environments.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to grammar, clarity, and tone.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Passion for the pro-life mission and alignment with the values of Students for Life.
Benefits
  • Must have the ability to operate technical equipment such as a computer and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to withstand long periods of driving.
  • Other physical demands may occasionally include: setting up displays, walking around campuses, standing during display times, walking outside for long periods of time (door to door canvassing) and participating in local and national pro-life marches.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
