About the role
- Write and edit content tailored to a specific department or initiative (e.g., Programs, Development, Marketing, Policy).
- Collaborate closely with assigned teams to understand messaging goals, campaign timelines, and audience needs.
- Take full responsibility for the quality and completion of assigned content.
- Sign off on final drafts, confirming readiness for publication or distribution.
- Ensure all content aligns with SFLA’s Lexicon, Style Guide, and brand voice.
- Create initial drafts using Copilot, leveraging its capabilities to accelerate content development.
- Conduct an editing pass through Copilot to ensure the work is accurate and aligned with the organization’s Lexicon and Style Guide.
- Manage tasks and deadlines through Asana or other project management tools.
Requirements
- K nowledge of grammar rules, including the Oxford comma.
- Strong writing, editing, and research skills.
- 2+ years of professional writing experience, preferably in nonprofit, advocacy, or mission-driven organizations.
- Experience in marketing, communications, or legislative affairs a plus.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and project management platforms (e.g., Asana).
- Experience with and willingness to learn and apply AI tools in the writing process.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tasks and environments.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to grammar, clarity, and tone.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Passion for the pro-life mission and alignment with the values of Students for Life.
Benefits
- Must have the ability to operate technical equipment such as a computer and sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to withstand long periods of driving.
- Other physical demands may occasionally include: setting up displays, walking around campuses, standing during display times, walking outside for long periods of time (door to door canvassing) and participating in local and national pro-life marches.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
