About the role
- Lead the development and implementation of strategies and goals for assigned commodities in support of overall divisional business objectives.
- Formulate and implement processes to build a best-in-class strategic sourcing organisation.
- Develop and lead cross functional teams and lead the process to create strategic commodity plans, consolidation strategy, and spend/supply assessments taking into account total product life cycle needs.
- Leads sourcing analysis and selection process and performs cost analyses and make versus buy analyses as required.
- Leads development of contract strategy.
- Negotiates, establishes, monitors and enforces supplier contracts and agreements.
- Develop strong partnership relationships with key suppliers as well as other disciplines within the businesses.
- Identify supply base risk and develop/implement mitigation plans including market assessments, supplier's financial assessments, social responsibility, environment, ethics etc.
- Obtain and communicate market condition information and technology trends related to commodities and suppliers.
- Utilise market trends to identify and implement appropriate cost controls and business strategy changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Management, Business, Finance, Engineering or related field.
- 10 years in Supply Management with focus on strategic sourcing and supplier development.
- Knowledge and application of supplier contract strategy, negotiations, contractual terms, and contract administration.
- Knowledge of supplier processes and supply chain risk factors including experience in assessing and mitigating risk in the supply base.
- International sourcing and supplier management experience.
- Experience operating in a highly regulated industry.
- Medical Device industry sourcing and supplier management experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of ISO13485 and ISO13485 standards.
- Supplier Audit experience in quality system standards: FDA QSR, ISO3485 and ISO9001 preferred.
- Professional certifications through APICS, ISM, and/or CSCMP.
