About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct, engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students daily
  • Provide targeted, personalized feedback using a variety of techniques
  • Differentiate instruction based on student mastery
  • Review student progress and grade submitted assignments in the learning management system
  • Create a welcoming class environment
  • Analyze student data and take actions to improve student achievement
  • Follow state- and client-specific policies, procedures, and deadlines
  • Support in-class facilitators with classroom management, curriculum, instruction, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting
  • Attend monthly data analysis meetings and use student data to guide instructional decisions
  • Complete required teacher induction and annual training
  • Create or augment course content using asynchronous and synchronous tools
  • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate proactively with stakeholders
  • Obtain additional state certifications as requested and maintain active certifications
  • Work on additional projects as needed
  • Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Active state teaching license
  • Must clear required background check
  • Ability to complete training within two weeks
  • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
  • Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office
  • Receptive to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers
  • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
  • Preferred residency in Georgia
  • Must have GA certification
  • Experience with the proposed age group (desired)
  • Experience supporting adults and children in technology use (desired)
  • Experience teaching synchronously in Zoom or Newrow (desired)
  • Experience with online learning platforms (desired)
