About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Deliver specific art course content through rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous online learning experiences
Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process and addressing students’ individual needs
Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system
Work closely with students and parents/learning coaches to advance learning toward established goals
Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on student mastery
Augment course content using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under principal and coach guidance
Maintain the grade book and make student placement and promotion decisions
Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress
Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests
Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner
Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues
Collaborate with teachers to interpret and use student data to drive instructional decisions
Travel up to 20% for professional development, student testing, and/or school requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree
Active state teaching license
Appropriate state Department of Education Art Teaching Certification
Ability to clear required background check
Ability to work independently
Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday
Availability for instructional hours between 9–5 EST or 8–4, based on school needs
Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic student-data representations
Ability to use student data to drive instructional decisions
Receptive to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers
Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to modern technologies and teaching platforms
Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
Desired: experience working with the proposed age group
