About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver specific health course content in an online environment
- Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process
- Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on student mastery
- Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system
- Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
- Maintain the grade book and protect student academic integrity
- Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to performance concerns
- Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests
- Establish rapport with families and communicate with students and parents/learning coaches
- Support parents and learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues
- Collaborate with teachers to interpret student data and use it to guide instruction
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree
- Active state teaching license
- Appropriate state Department of Education Health Teaching Certification
- Ability to clear required background check
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction
- Availability for instructional hours between 9–5 EST or 8–4
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and use student data for instructional decisions
- Receptive to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to support student outcomes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to learn and adapt to modern technologies and teaching platforms
- Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
- Up to 20% travel for professional development, student testing, and/or school requirements
