About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Deliver specific health course content in an online environment
Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process
Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on student mastery
Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system
Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
Maintain the grade book and protect student academic integrity
Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to performance concerns
Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests
Establish rapport with families and communicate with students and parents/learning coaches
Support parents and learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues
Collaborate with teachers to interpret student data and use it to guide instruction

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree
Active state teaching license
Appropriate state Department of Education Health Teaching Certification
Ability to clear required background check
Ability to work independently
Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction
Availability for instructional hours between 9–5 EST or 8–4
Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and use student data for instructional decisions
Receptive to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers
Ability to embrace change and adapt to support student outcomes
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to learn and adapt to modern technologies and teaching platforms
Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
Up to 20% travel for professional development, student testing, and/or school requirements
