About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work with at-risk students to provide remediation and support academic growth
- Modify and adapt the K12 curriculum to align with state content standards and student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers through individualized and small-group sessions
- Educate parents on instructional strategies
- Implement the RTI instructional system to increase student achievement
- Oversee data collection and progress monitoring at every RTI tier
- Use student data to support whole-group and small-group instructional planning
- Guide teachers in identifying and grouping students needing additional support
- Maintain RTI data, eligible-student lists, and intervention plans
- Serve as a resource to administrators, leadership teams, and stakeholders on RTI issues
- Coordinate and track Tier 2 interventions with teachers, advisors, counselors, and district personnel
- Train and support staff on RTI implementation and data-collection procedures
- Support teachers in documenting student progress
- Work with the special education team to facilitate eligibility
- Travel up to 20% for face-to-face professional development, student testing, or school requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- South Carolina Department of Education High School (9-12) Math Teaching Certification
- Must reside in South Carolina
- Bachelor's degree
- Active state teaching license
- Ability to clear required background check
- Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
- Ability to maintain a professional home office without distractions during the workday
- Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data
- Ability to use student data to drive instructional decisions
- Receptive to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
- Ability to maintain teacher certification and professional development hours
- Fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
- Experience with the proposed age group (desired)
- Experience supporting adults and children in using technology (desired)
- Experience teaching online/virtually or in a brick-and-mortar environment (desired)
- Experience with online learning platforms (desired)
