About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver specific elementary school course content in an online environment
- Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process
- Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on student mastery
- Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
- Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system
- Maintain the grade book and make student placement and promotion decisions
- Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress
- Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests
- Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and parents/learning coaches
- Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues
- Travel as required for professional development, student testing, and school functions
- Collaborate with teachers and use student data to guide instructional decisions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree
- Active state teaching license
- Appropriate state Department of Education Elementary School Teaching Certification
- Ability to clear required background check
- Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
- Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during the workday
- Experience working with the proposed age group
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology
- Experience teaching in an online or brick-and-mortar environment
- Experience with online learning platforms
- Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data
- Ability to collaborate with other teachers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
- Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
