About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver specific Fine Arts CTE course content in an online environment
- Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process and focusing on individual student needs
- Monitor student progress through K12’s learning management system
- Work with students and parents to advance learning and develop and monitor post-secondary success plans
- Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
- Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on student mastery
- Augment course content using approved synchronous and asynchronous tools
- Maintain the grade book and make student placement and promotion decisions
- Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress
- Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests
- Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and parents in a timely manner
- Support learning coaches and parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues
- Develop instructional tools and strategies to supplement the curriculum
- Collaborate with the school and national professional learning community
- Administer and proctor certification assessments where applicable
- Serve as an Advisor for a Career & Technical Student Organization
- Support creation of business and industry partnerships for work-based learning experiences
- Support a project-based learning model
- Travel up to 20% for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and school requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree
- Active state teaching license
- Appropriate state Department of Education Fine Arts CTE Teaching Certification
- Ability to clear the required background check
- Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
- Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during the workday
- Ability to collaborate with teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic student-data representations and use them for instructional decisions
- Receptiveness to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
- Ability to maintain teacher certification and professional-development hours
- Fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for in-person professional development, student testing, and school events
- Experience with the proposed age group (desired)
- Experience supporting adults and children in using technology (desired)
- Experience teaching online or in a brick-and-mortar environment (desired)
