About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver specific high school science course content in an online environment
  • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process

  • Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner
  • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues
  • Travel as required for professional development, student testing, and school functions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Active state teaching license
  • Appropriate state Department of Education High School (9-12) Science Teaching Certification
  • Ability to clear required background check
  • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
  • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday
  • Experience working with the proposed age group
  • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology
  • Experience teaching in an online or brick-and-mortar environment
  • Experience with online learning platforms
  • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data and use it to drive instructional decisions
  • Ability to receive regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers
  • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
  • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
