About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver specific course content in an online environment
- Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
- Personalize learning for all students
- Differentiate instruction based on student mastery
- Augment course content using asynchronous and synchronous tools under principal and coach guidance
- Maintain the grade book and ensure student academic integrity
- Make student placement and promotion decisions
- Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress
- Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families
- Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner
- Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues
- Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system
- Travel occasionally, up to 20%, for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and school requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Any active teaching certificate
- Indiana residency
- Bachelor's degree
- Active state teaching license
- Ability to clear required background check
- Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
- Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during workday hours
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic student-data representations
- Ability to use student data to drive instructional decisions
- Receptive to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
- Ability to travel up to 20% for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and school requirements
