About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Modify and adapt the K12 curriculum to align with state content standards and meet individual student needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers through individualized and small-group sessions
  • Educate parents on instructional strategies
  • Implement the RTI instructional system to increase student achievement
  • Oversee data collection and progress monitoring at every tier
  • Use student data to help teachers plan whole- and small-group instruction
  • Guide teachers in identifying and grouping students needing additional support
  • Collect and maintain RTI data, including eligible-student lists and intervention plans
  • Serve as a daily RTI resource to school administrators, leadership teams, and stakeholders
  • Coordinate and track Tier 2 interventions with homeroom teachers, advisors, counselors, and district personnel
  • Provide ongoing RTI training and support to school and district staff
  • Support teachers in documenting student progress
  • Work with the special education team to facilitate special-education eligibility
  • Travel up to 20% for face-to-face professional development, student testing, or school requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Michigan Elementary Teaching Certification required
  • Must reside in Michigan
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Active state teaching license
  • Ability to clear the required background check
  • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
  • Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during the workday
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic student-data representations
  • Ability to use student data to drive instructional decisions
  • Receptive to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers
  • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to learn and adapt rapidly to new technologies and teaching platforms
  • Ability to maintain teacher certification and professional-development hours
  • Fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
  • Experience with the proposed age group desired
  • Experience supporting adults and children in technology use desired
  • Experience teaching online/virtual or brick-and-mortar desired
